Blendon Educators Take Pies in the Face to Raise Scholarship Money

Blendon Middle School Principal Kendall Harris is pied by a sixth grade student, the top seller at the school.. 

 

 

The highlight of a raucous pep assembly at Blendon Middle School, held on January 23, was the throwing of pies into the faces of favorite educators.  Students sold pies in October for the Blendon PTO Scholarship Fund.  $1,008 in profit was realized, increasing the number of $500 scholarships from three to five.  The incentive to sell was getting to pie a staff member.  The top seller in each grade, plus one lucky raffle winner, chose from a list of willing teachers.  Sixth grade raffle winner Cole Koehler pied Language Arts teacher Stephanie Sahr.  Seventh grade top seller Sydney Parriott chose Science teacher Victoria Cook.  Eighth grade top seller Jeff Steele picked History teacher Kim DeMooy.  And sixth grade top seller Kelsey Souders selected Principal Kendall Harris.  Blendon PTO President Janet Steele emceed the event with help from PTO Vice President Tracy Davidson.
