Students in Emily Kessler and Kelly Balaz’s second-grade classes at Hanby Elementary collaborated with Generations Performing Arts Center to perform the Princess and the Frog Fairytale Dance on May 15 at Westerville Central High School.
Students have been practicing since March for their performance, which is an annual tradition for Hanby’s second-grade classes. As Hanby works towards its Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) designation, Kessler and Balaz incorporated math into the arts experience by having students count steps and find patterns.
Kessler and Balaz said they are so thankful for the collaboration and opportunity.
