Students in Kelly Long’s fourth grade class at Hanby Elementary School look forward to writing and receiving letters, thanks to a partnership between the school and the Outreach Department of the Westerville Public Library.  “Leaping Letters” is a program that was started by library employee Marie Corbitt and retired Westerville City Schools teacher Cheryl Ortlieb.  Throughout the year, children correspond with library patrons, frequently residents of senior facilities, who have books and materials delivered because they are unable to visit the library in person.  According to Long, “The children love it.”
