By exceeding their fundraising goal during the “Smarts-a-Thon,” pupils at Hanby Elementary School earned several rewards.  They got to enjoy a photo booth, where they took pictures with their friends; and were also entertained by watching their teachers perform the Cha Cha slide.  In addition, one student – Matthew Shaffer – got to pick what color Principal Jan Fedorenko would dye her hair.  He chose “rainbow.”  Her new look, compliments of the Michael David Salon in Westerville and hair designer Amanda Essex, was revealed during an assembly held Friday afternoon, November 22.  Dr. Fedorenko sported her new “do” throughout the following week.  The $5,000+ raised by students will be used for field trips and curriculum enhancement.
