Springtime should be breathtakingly beautiful at Hanby Magnet School, thanks to the more than 1,000 tulip and daffodil bulbs that were planted there this week by students. A riot of color will likely prevail in the “Growing Together” garden surrounding the building, which was created in celebration of the merging of Central College, Longfellow and Hanby magnet schools. Central College and Longfellow were closed this year due to budgetary constraints. Many students from those buildings now attend Hanby. Americorp Fellow Bronwyn Ginty, who organized the undertaking, said the staff and students are looking forward to seeing the flowers which represent the pupils from different schools coming together and growing in their educational experience.
