Four Westerville City Schools elementary students earned top marks in annual poster contest

Four Westerville students are among the winners in the Franklin Soil and Water Conservation District's annual conservation poster contest. They include:

  • Amelia Colliver, First place, Grade 3 category 

Teacher: Katie Ensell, Hawthorne Elementary

  • Meg Hawkins, Third place, Grade 3 category

Teacher: Katie Reinker, Alcott Elementary

  • Harper Crites, First place, Grade 4-5 category 

Teacher: Mara Katz, Emerson Elementary

  • Charlotte Rex, Third place, Grade 4-5 category

Teacher: Mara Katz, Emerson Elementary 

Nearly 1,000 students from six Franklin County school districts participated in the 2022 contest. This year’s theme was “Healthy Soil: Healthy Life.” 

The winning artwork will be featured on select Orange Barrel Media digital kiosks from May 8 to 14. The Franklin Soil and Water Conservation District is hosting an awards ceremony to recognize contest winners 10:30-11:30 a.m. May 21 at the Franklin Park Conservatory.
