Westerville City Schools is hosting an open house where families can learn more about the elementary’s three magnet programs focused on Math/Science, World Cultures, and the Arts.
Emerson houses the World Cultures program while Hanby houses the Arts and Math/Science programs. Both schools will have an open house on Wednesday, March 16 where families can walk through the schools and speak to teachers about the programs. Emerson’s event runs 5:30-6:30 p.m. while Hanby’s open house is 6-7 p.m.
Applications for the Magnet program will be available from March 1 through March 25. Spots are limited so students are admitted to the program via a lottery. The district will identify incoming magnet students selected for seats in the program for the 2022-23 school year.
Families can identify a program choice and retain the right to refuse any seat that is offered as a result of the lottery. Notifications will be sent on April 8 to all Magnet program applicants to inform them of their status. For more information, visit www.wcsoh.org/magnet.
