Several Westerville City Schools students were among the winners in the annual Celebrate the Arts Writing Contest sponsored by the Arts Council of Westerville, Westerville Public Library and ThisWeek Westerville News & Public Opinion newspaper.
Writers of all ages from across Central Ohio are invited to share their works in the writing contest, which is part of the annual celebration of the Arts in Westerville every April. This is the 15th year of the contest. Winners were invited to read from their works during an awards video that can be viewed here.
First-place winners in each category will have their works published in an issue of ThisWeek Westerville News & Public Opinion newspaper. Because all approved entries are printed in a compilation book, each writer becomes a published author. The 20 winners receive a complimentary copy of the book thanks to the support of the Friends of the Westerville Public Library. A copy is purchased by the library and made available for checkout.
