Westerville City Schools is hosting a virtual Magnet Program Fair where families can learn more about the elementary’s three magnet programs focused on Math/Science, World Cultures, and the Arts.

Emerson Elementary hosts the World Cultures program, while Hanby Elementary hosts the Arts and the Math/Science programs.

Virtual tours will be held March 3. Families can watch tours of each building and staff members will be available to answer questions.

  • The Hanby Magnet Fair Tour runs 5:30-6:30 p.m. The link to the event is here

  • The Emerson Magnet Fair Tour runs 6-7 p.m. The link to the event is here.

Applications for the Magnet program will be available from Feb. 16 through March 12. Spots are limited so students are admitted to the program via a March 17 lottery. The district will identify incoming magnet students selected for seats in the program for the 2021-22 school year.

Parents whose children will be in the Second, Third, Fourth or Fifth grade next year can also apply to the Magnet program. Applicants, also chosen at random, will be used to fill any potential vacancies in the program at those grade levels.

Families can identify a program choice and retain the right to refuse any seat that is offered as a result of the lottery. Notifications will be sent on March 26 to all Magnet program applicants to inform them of their status. For more information, visit www.wcsoh.org/magnet.
