The students and staff from Emerson Elementary Magnet School treated their families to an evening of internationally inspired art and music on Wednesday evening, March 20.  Art teacher Juls Rathje helped her pupils present a variety of art pieces.  Families were also invited to participate in a make-and-take family mosaic project that evening.  Music teacher Mary-Rebekah Fortman led the children in a performance that included music and instruments from around the world.  Each year, the highly anticipated fifth grade drumming performance closes the show. This year, they also included many other instruments like ukuleles and even cowbells!  Attendees enjoyed dinner from local food trucks Cazuela’s Grill, Creole 2 Geaux, and Schmidt’s.
