Second Annual Emerson Olympics Draws Enthusiastic Competitors

On Friday, September 20, Emerson World Cultures Magnet School students participated in the second annual Emerson Olympics. The annual fall fundraiser for the PTA included five events: Track (relay race), Sand Volleyball, Basketball, Long Jumping, and the Equestrian Event. Students began the activity by parading to Alum Creek Park. Each class chose a boy and a girl to be their Olympic Torch Bearers. They were instructed to select individuals who epitomize Olympic ideals. Money raised will go to help fund school activities, field trips, books and materials and special events this year at Emerson.
