Westerville City Schools’ Career Tech & College Readiness office has resources available to help Westerville students and parents better understand the new Ohio graduation requirements for the Class of 2023 and beyond.

They include an informational video with Dawn Sayre, the district’s director of Career and College Pathways, as well an interactive guidance document that highlights:

  • The required number of credits in specific subjects (math, English/language arts, social studies, science, health and physical education and electives)

  • How to demonstrate competency through passing scores on Ohio’s high school Algebra I and English II tests; or completing college coursework; or career focused-activities; or enlisting in the military

  • The various diploma seals students can choose from that align with their goals and interests. Seals provide students an opportunity to demonstrate academic, technical and professional skills and knowledge that aligns with interests and planned next steps after high school.

Additional information is available on the WCSD Academic Planning Guide.
