Nearly 100 veterans returning from Westerville’s 11th community sponsored Honor Flight on Saturday, September 7, received a rousing “welcome home” from hundreds of grateful well-wishers.  Standing out in the crowd was the entire marching band from Westerville South High School who, under the direction of John Laswell, played patriotic tunes including the Star Spangled Banner.  Everyone present sang along to the moving rendition.

To show Central Ohio’s appreciation to its senior veterans for their selfless defense of liberty, Honor Flight Columbus provides them a day in the nation’s Capital to visit the memorials built in their honor.  Learn more at www.honorflightcolumbus.org
