Westerville South High School’s Theatre Department, run by Matt Wolfe, is piloting a program in Central Ohio called the Marquee Awards.  This regional award that then feeds into National High School Musical Theatre Awards (aka Jimmy Awards) takes two young actors to New York City for a week of workshops and competition.  Along with these two national titles, the local market also awards other categories to keep the fun going.

South’s spring musical, Catch Me If You Can, was adjudicated recently and has been nominated for Backstage Excellence, Ensemble, Musical, Director, Best Actor (Caleb Jingo), Best Actor (Oliver Runyon), and Best Actress (Emma Murphy).  The troupe will perform at the Lincoln Theatre on June 3.  See the nomination announcement at https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=HgDP7x5Y4fM.
