Westerville South student musicians exceled at the OMEA Large Group Band Contest.
More than 1,500 students performed on March 8 and 9 for the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) Large Group Band Contest, hosted at Westerville South High School.
South’s Concert Band received an Overall Excellent Rating, with a Superior Rating in the Sight Reading caption (the highest possible score). South’s Wind Ensemble received an Overall Superior Rating, with another Superior Rating in the Sight Reading caption. This marks the fifth year in a row that the South Wind Ensemble has qualified for the State Competition.
