Actor Jonathan Weir returned to his alma mater at Westerville South High School (1975-1977) after a 40-year absence.  He is in Columbus with the national touring company of Aladdin, where he is cast in the role of Jafar.  On Monday, October 29, Weir spent time with theater classes at Westerville South to speak with students about acting and life on the road.

In another Westerville connection, North theater director Kim (Kish) Mollohan said she and Weir were friends in high school.  They performed together in Funny Girl – she as Fanny Brice and he as Nicky Arnstein.  They both attended college at Bowling Green State University.  Mollohan and more than 50 Westerville North theater students and parents planned to attend last evening’s performance of Aladdin, and Weir offered to meet with the group after the show.

Aladdin runs through November 4 and tickets can be purchased at the CAPA Ticket Center, 39 E. State St.; at all Ticketmaster outlets; by phone at 614/469-0939 or 800/745-3000; and online at www.ticketmaster.com.
