Westerville South High School (WSHS) will be holding an open house from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday evening, October 29.  The event is an opportunity for families, students and interested community members to compare the school in its current state to architectural drawings of how the school will appear once renovations are complete.

“Various parts of the building will have architectural renderings on display to share the vision for that particular area,” said WSHS Principal Michael Hinze.  “We’re excited about the project and simply want to give our community an opportunity to remain informed and join us as we unveil the future look of Westerville South High School.”

School leadership will also give a brief presentation about the renovation plans.  The presentation will be provided three times in the school’s auditorium.  The first presentation is at 6:30 p.m., with subsequent presentations at 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.  Content shared during each presentation will be identical.  While this is an opportunity for the community to learn about and envision what the school will look like in the near future, Hinze said those working on the project have not forgotten about the students and teachers.

“This all started with input from our community during the district's strategic plan update, but I can’t emphasize enough just how valuable student and teacher input has been to the planning process,” Hinze noted.  “In fact, even though the schematic design for phase one of the project are essentially complete, we have had ongoing meetings with teachers and student focus groups, simply to review the plans, collect any last-minute thoughts, and make sure we didn’t overlook something on any aspect of the project.”
