Little Shop of Horrors is a beloved musical by the team of Howard Ashman and Alan Menken. Based on the film of the same name, the show has entertained generations of theatregoers. Westerville South High School will bring Little Shop of Horrors to audiences for one weekend only in October.  The story is full of camp humor (which edges on adult humor at times), but is enjoyable by theatre lovers of all ages.  Tickets cost $10 and can be secured at www.localevents.com (search Little Shop).  Tickets will also be sold at the door.  Performances will take place in the Westerville South High School auditorium (303 S. Otterbein Avenue) at 7:00 p.m. on October 12 and October 13; and 2:00 p.m. on October 14.

Seymour Krelbourn (Bayden Jung) is a down on his luck protagonist who dreams about what life would be like free from poverty and heartache.  He fantasizes about living a life with Audrey (Georgia Santino) being adopted by shop owner Mr. Mushnick (Caleb Jingo) and defeating Audrey’s no good boyfriend, Orin Scrivello, DDS (Oliver Runyon).  His dreams become reality, for a little while when he purchases a strange and interesting plant, which he names Audrey II (Voiced by Tyler Carraway and puppeteered by Josiah Holloway).  Narrated by the Urchins (Emma Murphy, Kandy Boakye, Sophia Shai) and ensemble (Lucy Morrison, Latifat Suliman). Accompanied by a small combo band and a strong technical crew, led by Derrick McPeak, this is a night at the theatre you do not want to miss.
