Westerville South’s Moyesh Kahnal, an Application Development & Programming student at the Delaware Area Career Center (DACC), has been selected as one of five pupils in Ohio to be a semi-finalist for the Ohio ACTE Presidential Scholar Award.  He will be honored at the annual ACTE Legislative Seminar in January, and is in the running to be recognized nationally later this year.

Kahnal joined the DACC family as part of the very first class of App Development students.  He has left his mark on this program by becoming a leader among his peers and by helping to shape the program for future students.  In the App Development program, he has worked with Javascript, HTML, CSS, Unity3d, Maya, and Swift for iOS.  Nominator Jeff Davidson wrote, “Natural curiosity and a tenacious drive to problem solve are incredibly important attributes for Application Development and Programming.  A student must have focus, creativity, and a knack for logic.  Moyesh Khanal exemplifies all of these traits.”

He currently holds a 4.0 grade point average, is a member of the National Technical Honor Society, and has received several awards for athletics and academics.

Kahnal plans to attend college after high school to pursue a degree in computer science.  He sees every day as an opportunity and is committed to using his good fortune to change the world in a positive way.
