The walls in the Westerville North High School commons are adorned with student athletes and teams – those who were named all-Ohio by the media, earned top state honors, or competed at the state level.  However, since its opening in 1975, the school has never had an official Athletic Hall of Fame.  Therefore, the Westerville North Athletic Department is pleased to announce the creation of the Westerville North Athletic Hall of Fame and anticipated induction of its first-ever class on January 4, 2019.

“Throughout its 43-year history, Westerville North High School has been home to many of the top student athletes and athletic teams in Central Ohio,” said Athletic Director Wes Elifritz. “Fans of the Warriors have cheered on numerous district and regional titles, as well as six state championships from its teams.  Many Warrior athletes have become individual state champions and earned all-Ohio honors in their respective sports.  It’s time to recognize their accomplishments more formally with the creation of an Athletic Hall of Fame.”

Nominations for the Westerville North Athletic Hall of Fame will be accepted in August, September and October.  In November, Hall of Fame committee members (current and former administrators, coaches, teachers, student leaders and community members) will select the first group of inductees.   The January 4 induction ceremony will include a dinner and public recognition ceremony prior to the boys’ basketball game against Westerville South.

Anyone wishing to nominate a former student-athlete, coach, or friend of the program can obtain a nomination form online at www.westervillenorthathletics.com.  Forms also will be available in North’s main office and the school’s athletic office.  Deadline for nominations is October 31.  Please contact Athletic Director Wes Elifritz (elifritw@wcsoh.org) with any questions.
