Week of 8/25/2014
I hope everyone is settling back into their new school schedules. We have had a great start to the year.  This week I will be introducing Daily Academic Vocabulary. This is a vocabulary program that introduces new academic words.  There are four words that we will learn during the week. At the end of the week the students will do a short review of the words. At the end of each nine weeks we will have a test to review these vocabulary words. We have been reading a short story in the literature book entitled "The Good Deed."  From this story students are to create an "eye bouquet"  as homework, which is due Tuesday August 26, 2014.  We will also be starting to discuss the concepts of plot, conflict, and setting.  We will also be reading some various non-fiction based texts.  Please make sure that your child is reading and enjoying a book each evening.
