    Dear Parents,

Every year Mrs. Eberle, the 5th grade language arts teacher, begins the year with a read aloud of the book Wonder. This book covers many themes including family, appearances, friendship, courage, identity and kindness as the main character, Auggie, navigates his fifth grade year in a new school. During this read aloud, different comprehension strategies that apply to all fictional texts will be addressed.

I feel that your child will benefit from this instruction with their general education classmates. Mrs. Eberle and I will work together to instruct and support all of the students that would typically be pulled to the resource room for instruction. In addition to this inclusion instruction, I will be pulling your child for 20 to 30 minutes each day to work specifically on IEP objectives not being addressed in the general education classroom.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns regarding this difference in instruction for the beginning of the year.
