Thank you to everyone who returned the permission slip for our trip to Lynd’s farm on Oct. 16th. If I do not have a slip for your child I sent another one in today’s folder. I must have it back by Monday. We will be going rain or shine so please dress for the weather. Hopefully we will have a nice day. We will go with Mrs. Shawver’s  AM class and will return at lunch time. We will be learning all about apples at the orchard and each child will be able to pick a bag of apples. 

If you have not signed up for a conference time please contact me to do so. Conferences will be Oct. 23rd in the evening and Oct. 24th all day and evening. There will not be any classes on the 24th or 25th. 

This week we have been continuing to learn our first few sight words. These are words that I expect the children to recognize quickly when they encounter them in their reading. We’ve been spelling the words with magnet letters and making the  words with paper pumpkins in our pumpkin patch. The words I have introduced are; I, am, see, the, like, can. Next week we’ll learn my. Please encourage your child to look for these words as you are sharing books together. I am in the process of preparing the Book in the Bags that we discussed at curriculum night. These will be coming home in the next few weeks.
