This course is recommended for students who demonstrate a need for enhanced language arts study based on assessments of skills, classroom performance and initiative, and teacher recommendation.
This course helps students develop language arts skills in comprehension, vocabulary knowledge, and reading and writing fluency. Use of high-interest reading and writing and contemporary literature to include both fiction and nonfiction helps students develop essential literacy and learning strategies.
The course counts as 1.00 English credit toward graduation.
