I spent six years in the Ohio Air National Guard (1985-1991) as a crew member for the KC-135. I was also in the United States Marine Corps for one year while waiting for flight school before transferring back to the National Guard. I served two tours in the Middle East (stationed in Jidda, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai, United Arab Emirates) during the Persian Gulf War.
