Volunteers from Our Community, Our Schools were recognized by the Westerville City Schools Board of Education on Monday evening, November 18, for stepping up to educate the community about the benefits of Issue #8, a combined bond issue and operating levy, which was approved by voters on November 5.

Because of their efforts, the district is poised to manage enrollment growth; more pupils will be able to attend schools closer to their homes with the construction of a new elementary and middle school; and safety features will be enhanced in all buildings.  In addition, overall conditions of older schools will be addressed, and middle and high school students will have access to courses that explore high-demand careers.

The Board and Superintendent sincerely thanked the group for volunteering their time and expertise to help pass Issue #8, which, they said, will give current and future students and staff in the Westerville City School District the “amazing opportunity to excel to their greatest potential.”  Co-chairs Mollie Lynch and Colleen Moidu received individual Resolutions of Appreciation, as did Amy Raubenolt.
