Columbus Metro Parks sponsored a Design Expo as part of a culminating activity to their Students Exploring Ecosystem Dynamics program.  Fifth grade students from across central Ohio took part in the activity at the Scioto Audubon Metro Park.

Five fifth graders represented Fouse Elementary School.  Each of the students completed a study on an ecosystem, after which they designed a newly discovered animal that could thrive in that particular environment.  Pupils discussed the adaptations each animal would use to live in that particular ecosystem as well what it would eat and how it would interact with other organisms. The students then wrote an extensive report to explain their findings.  Finally, they created a 3D model of their newly discovered animal for display.  They were interviewed by visiting guests as they their shared their project.
