Warhawk Theater Department announces camp for experienced and aspiring performers in third through eighth grade

Westerville Central High School’s Warhawk Theatre is hosting a theatre camp at the school for students in third through eighth grade. The camp takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 29, 2020, with a Camper Showcase at 4 p.m.

Camp participants will be coached by high school mentors, who will help campers improve their acting skills, grow their confidence on stage, and gain additional experience performing. Participants will learn how to audition, prop a show, build a set, act on stage, and construct a costume. Additionally, campers will gain skills in the art of improvisation. The event culminates with the Camper Showcase, where campers performing a short show in front of their peers, mentors, and family members.

The $50 registration fee includes a pizza lunch, bottled water, camp T-shirt, and certificate of completion. Campers also will take home the piece of the set they worked on, their name tags, their copy of the script, and a small book summarizing their experience.
