Mary Katherine Lynch and Grace Klima signed Letters of Intent on November 15.
Friends, family members, teachers, coaches, administrators and teammates gathered in the Westerville North High School Media Center on Friday afternoon, November 15, to watch and celebrate as Mary Katherine Lynch and Grace Klima signed Letters of Intent to compete and continue their studies at the collegiate level.
Mary Katherine Lynch will attend the University of Louisville and join their NCAA Division 1 Women’s Rowing program as a coxswain and scholarship athlete next fall. She plans to major in Chemistry. Lynch has been a coxswain for Westerville Crew’s Varsity & Novice Women’s teams for three years. While attending Westerville North, she was a delegate to Buckeye Girls’ State; participated in the Global Scholars program and the Warrior Way Leadership workshop; and worked on the stage crew in the Theater Department. Additionally, she was a Rotary Short Term Exchange student in France in 2018. Her involvement in Rotary also provided Lynch the opportunity to lead fundraising events for ShelterBox and PolioPlus, each raising more than $10,000.
Grace Klima rows for a club team called Westerville Crew on Hoover Dam. Rowing, she says, has taught her self-discipline and time management. She expressed appreciation to her teachers for their flexibility in accommodating her schedule and setting her up for success. Klima committed to Robert Morris University in Pennsylvania for Division One rowing, where she hopes to study nursing and be part of the Women’s Leadership and Mentorship Program.
