As part of a team-building activity, students spelled out HMS (Heritage Middle School) on the field at Jim McCann Stadium.
On Friday, August 23, Heritage Middle School celebrated its fifth annual PRIDE Day (Purpose, Respect, Independence, Discipline, Evaluate).
Motivational speakers Joshua Perry and Matt Hazelwood helped the students understand the importance of using PRIDE in their lives in and out of school. Pupils were engaged in learning how to use their gifts and talents to be the best person in the classroom as well as making a commitment to accomplish an academic goal. Outdoor team building activities allowed youngsters to interact with staff and other students while building positive relationships.
Organizers expressed their appreciation to speakers, the Champion Companies and the PTSA for providing a PRIDE t-shirt for each student to wear. They also thanked the Westerville Fire Department for helping with team building activities; community member Jo Ford for capturing the day on film; and Lori Jung and the Husky Strong staff for sharing their time and talents. Students and staff were able to seize the day with kindness, excellence, safety and Husky PRIDE.
