Students take the Senior Pledge, vowing to practice the Warrior Way; be good role models; and re-commit to completing all the steps necessary to graduate.
Every year, shortly after school begins, seniors at Westerville North High School find themselves marching into the gymnasium to thunderous applause from parents, staff and underclassmen. Each is given a yellow rose to carry, the thorns of which have been removed to symbolize obstacles they have overcome to get to this milestone in their lives. Principal Kurt Yancey shares a few words of inspiration, as do class officers. The ceremony has become a beloved rite of passage at the school, commemorating the beginning of what hopefully will become an outstanding and memorable senior year. This year’s Yellow Rose Ceremony drew a standing-room-only crowd. It took place on Wednesday morning, August 14.
