Westerville State Farm® Agent April Schaad recently donated $2,500 to the Ohio Association of Student Councils (OASC).  Because of this gift, the OASC and Westerville City Schools have formed a new partnership to provide leadership training throughout the year at no cost to schools, students or families.  These opportunities include weekend retreats and a full week over the summer on a college campus.  Pupils from all across Ohio participate in OASC programming and now Westerville students will get the same chance to network and help make their schools and communities even stronger.

The OASC was established in 1953.  It provides educational programs in leadership and opportunities for practice in the qualities of good citizenship necessary for the effective membership in a democratic society.  The group is dedicated to teaching valuable leadership, organizational, and people skills to all middle and high school students in the State of Ohio.

April Schaad and State Farm is dedicated to the educational growth of all students.  It is not all about business to her; it is about relationships.  State Farm, OASC and Westerville City Schools would like to provide even further opportunities for students and are seeking other businesses with which to partner.  If you are interested in helping or learning more, please contact April Schaad (april.schaad.crm1@statefarm.com) with State Farm or Anthony Paletta with The Ohio Association of Student Councils (anthony.paletta@oasc-oh.org)

Lastly, on February 21, OASC is holding a Benefit Event at Wolf Ridge Brewery from 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.  Tickets cost $30 and go towards student leadership development.  Come learn more about the organization, as they will have student presentations, raffles, and live music.  The ticket includes one drink and appetizers.  Learn more at oasc-oh.org/events.
