Utility officials have determined that Hawthorne Elementary will be without power the remainder of the day. Therefore, afternoon kindergarten at Hawthorne is canceled. Parents and guardians who wish to pick up their children from Hawthorne may do so throughout the remainder of the day. Students will be released to only those persons authorized to pick up a child from school. Classroom temperatures at Hawthorne are in the 60s and students are being permitted to wear their coats if they wish. Hawthorne students who are not picked up will be dismissed following normal procedures at the end of the day. We will notify you if there are any additional adjustments to these plans. Thank you.
