At its September 10 meeting, the Westerville City Schools Board of Education and Superintendent John Kellogg recognized Cherrington Elementary School for 50 years of excellence in education.  Principal Andy Heck was presented with a resolution, which stated, “Throughout the years, while Cherrington has undergone additions, renovations, growth, and even a name change, the real story is found in the students, staff and parents who brought it to life and transformed it into an exemplary, award-winning elementary school.”  A contingency of students, parents and school representatives showed up to accept the honor.  Cherrington will host an open house tonight from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.  The community is cordially invited to the birthday celebration.
