Westerville Parent Council has been notified that Heritage Middle School student Lily Vennemeyer has received third place honors at the National Reflections Competition in the Middle School Photography category.  Her photo, titled Reaching for Freedom, won an Award of Excellence in the 2017-2018 Ohio PTA State Reflections Competition, before being sent on to the national contest.

Vennemeyer and 13 other students were recognized at the April 9 Westerville City Schools Board of Education meeting, for advancing to the 2017-2018 PTA State Reflections Competition in the areas of literature, music, dance, film/video production, photography and visual arts.  This year’s theme was Within Reach.  Program chair Jill French and co-chair Valerie Cumming organized the event for Westerville Parent Council, which serves as the sponsor for Reflections at the district level.
