Westerville North High School held its first annual All-Sports Recognition Ceremony for spring 2018 athletes on Tuesday evening, May 22.  Parents, student-athletes, North administrators, and spring head coaches were on hand as awards were announced in front of a filled Warrior Performing Arts Center.  Numerous spring student-athletes received scholar-athlete awards for earning a 3.3 or higher grade point average (GPA) for the third quarter of the 2017-18 school year.  Girls softball won the team GPA award for a second straight season with a collective 3.96 GPA average.  Boys track team member Ryan Cooper won the “Comeback Warrior” award, given by the North athletic training staff to a spring athlete who suffered a tough setback or injury, yet battled back to join their team with perseverance and a team-first mentality.  The “Warrior Identity” award went to four winter athletes who showed great coachability, commitment, and a consistent attitude and effort –Katie Koch (Girls Track/Field), Marin Kalista (Softball), Ryan Iarussi (Boys Lacrosse), and Ervan Rodgers (Boys Tennis).  Members of the Warrior Athlete Leadership Team nominated the “Warrior Identity” award finalists. Each spring program's head coach also shared a special award for their team before each team headed to their team banquet location at North.
