On Friday, May 11, Pointview Elementary hosted its second annual Leadership Day.  Outside school district visitors, community members, and district representatives enjoyed learning about how Pointview students took on leadership roles this year.  The day began with an assembly featuring welcoming remarks from Principal Sherry Birchem, musical entertainment, and a student video. Guests then broke into sessions that highlighted classroom 7 Habits lessons, and WIGS (Wildly Important Goal Setting).  After the sessions, the guests visited the Exploration Station where students presented poster boards describing various Leadership Teams, including Makerspace, Goldner’s Googlers, Book Club, Writing Club, Movie Team, Game Team, Astronomy, Spanish Club and Safety Patrol.  The event concluded in the gymnasium with bucket drum and vocal performances followed by panel discussion with teachers Cathryn Southward-Crane and Lexi Alza, parent representative Amanda Chiles, and student representative Khamaira Jones (grade 5).  The event was organized by the Lighthouse and Action teams.
