Ninety-two school bus drivers gathered at Westerville Central High School on Saturday morning, April 14, to compete in the 2018 Central Region Road-E-O, which was held again this year at Westerville Central High School.  Drivers from several school districts throughout the region were judged on their ability to maneuver through a complicated obstacle course and pass a written exam.  At the end of the day, Westerville’s Gary Case placed sixth overall and will advance to the State Road-E-O contest on May 5 at Licking Heights.  Westerville City Schools also took second place in the team competition, with drivers Gary Case, John Holmes, Dale Krantz, and Deidre Vandewater.

Co-chairs Becky Nitz and Chris Winesette thanked judges Char Smith, Shirley Timberlake, Dave Laidley, Joe LeGros, and Wendy Todys, along with volunteers Jerry Walker, Jan Horn, Anne Smith, Rob Smith, Shelly Smith, Jody Hart, Charlotte Hinzman, Rick Vanetta, Robert Dodds, Jack Bope and Sharon Mason.
