Westerville North’s Kasyn Scarantine to Play Softball at John Carroll University

Friends, family members, coaches, teammates, teachers and administrators gathered in the Gallery at Westerville North High School on March 14 to watch and celebrate as Kasyn Scarantine signed a Letter of Intent to play softball and continue her education at John Carroll University.  Scarantine is a three-year varsity softball starter and will earn her third letter this spring.  She received Honorable Mention All OCC during the 2017 season, is a three-time scholar athlete, and member of the National Honor Society.  Scarantine served as an OSHAA Leadership Conference Representative and participated in the Spread the Word to End the Word campaign.  She volunteers as a peer helper in the Autism Unit at Westerville North, and at the Citizens for Humane Action Animal Shelter in Columbus.  She played in North’s orchestra for three years and sang in the choir for one.  Scarantine played basketball her freshman and sophomore years and volleyball her freshman year.  She also played travel softball for the past five years.  Scarantine plans to major in Biology at John Carroll this fall, with a Pre-Veterinary track.
