Westerville Central High School enjoys the reputation of being a wonderful place to learn and grow, but this week students there are going out of their way to be extra nice. It’s “Kindness Week” and the goal is to “Be the change you want to see in the world.” Kindness grams are being sold (two for $1) to spread messages of appreciation and encouragement, and every school day has been devoted to a special cause. Monday was Custodian Appreciation Day and Tuesday Friends and Family Day. On Wednesday, students and staff were urged to wear rainbow colors in support of the LGBTQ community. Thursday was Cultural Appreciation Day and today participants are being encouraged to display their true colors by embracing who they really are and to Spread the Word to End the Word by showing support of the movement to stop labeling those with disabilities as being “retarded.”
