The Westerville South High School Theatre Department is proud to present Bridge to Terabithia as its fall children’s production.  Performances will take place in the school auditorium (303 South Otterbein Avenue) at 7:00 p.m. October 21 and 22; and at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 23.   Tickets for each show cost $10.00 and can be purchased at the door.  Seating is general admission.

Bridge to Terabithia, a suggested novel in several elementary schools in Westerville, addresses the unlikely friendship between a young boy, Jesse Aarons, and the new girl, Leslie Burke.  Both a bit socially awkward, the two find one another and then create their magical land, Terabithia.  Themes of friendship, love, loss and family are all explored through this less than two-hour musical journey.  With a cast of 13, a large crew and one student musician, this rarely-performed show will warm your heart.  Bridge to Terabithia was written by Katherine Paterson, and Stephanie L. Tolan, with music by Steve Liebman.

In conjunction with the retelling of this classic novel, South will be hosting a book drive.  Please bring your unwanted books of all levels and for all ages to the box office when you come to the show.  Donations can also be delivered to Matt Wolfe at Westerville South.  For further information about the play and a related contest for children, please contact Theatre Director Matt Wolfe at mtwolfe@otterbein.edu.
