Longfellow Kindergarten students are very excited about their new outdoor play activities.  On April 16, Justin Baker, an Eagle Scout candidate from Troop 560, completed his Eagle Scout project on the play space at Longfellow.  Seven, bright, interactive activities were painted on the asphalt for students to use.  The new activities include a bean bag toss, two hop-scotch patterns, a life size hundreds chart for outside mathematics, an alphabet caterpillar, an activity line that includes running, jumping, skipping and hopping, and a painted city with buildings, streets, and stop signs.  More than 20 volunteers participated and donated their time on his project.  A $500 Fund-a-Project grant from the Westerville Education Foundation was used to purchase paint and supplies.
