Westerville High Schools are well represented in the All-Ohio Thespian Show, She Kills Monsters, by Qui Nguyen.  The All-Ohio show is an annual production put on by the International Thespian Society: Ohio Chapter.  It is supported by the State Thespian Board and participants of the show.

Inducted Thespians throughout the State of Ohio auditioned online in November, attended a live callback in December and then held rehearsals in January, February and March of 2016.  There was a record turn out this year for auditions.  Of the 38 students selected for the cast and crew, 11 are from the Westerville High School Troupes at South, North and Central.

Nathen Powers from Westerville Central High school was selected for the crew, as were Westerville South students Hiba Abdouni, Jess Villacres, Julia Cristales, Jalissa Frye, Chris Morrsion, and Sarah Parker.

Included in the cast are South students James Hagerman, Cherish Myers, and Kerry Stevens, along with Westerville North’s Taylor Crumrine.

Adult production staff includes Jamie Schwanekamp from Westerville Central and Matt Wolfe from Westerville South.

A free parent/friend preview will be held on Thursday, March 10 at Dublin Scioto High School.  Donations will be accepted for Broadway Cares.

She Kills Monsters tells the story of Agnes Evans as she leaves her childhood home in Ohio following the death of her teenage sister, Tilly. When Agnes finds Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, however, she stumbles into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was Tilly’s refuge.  In this high-octane dramatic comedy laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and 90s pop culture, acclaimed young playwright Qui Nguyen offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all.
