The purpose of the program is twofold:  to recognize outstanding students who have distinguished themselves by serving their school and to expose them to the Rotary Club and its ideal of “Service Above Self.”  Students selected join Rotarians for lunch every week for a month, and have the opportunity to interact with members.

Westerville South senior Brynner Jung earned a 4.5 GPA.  Physics and Business Management are his favorite classes.  He also participates in cross country and swimming, and serves on the Prom Committee.  He is an International Baccalaureate Diploma Candidate.  Jung volunteers at the Mid-Ohio Food Bank, and at running and health events in Central Ohio.  He helped start a tutoring program at Heritage Middle School.  Jung is a National Merit Commended Scholar.  He holds four Academic Varsity letters and six varsity sports letters.  He plans to study Aeronautical Engineering and Business at the University of California, Berkeley, or OSU.

Megan Javitch is a senior at DeSales, where she enjoys studying Psychology and Calculus.  Her GPA is 4.357.  She is involved in cheerleading, theater, Run the Race, Spanish Club, Student Ambassadors, and Math Club.  She is active in a church ministry at St. Paul; has ridden in Pelatonia; and has taken piano lessons since she was five years old.  She received a St. Francis DeSales scholarship, is a National Merit Commended Scholar, and a National Honor Society council member.  She plans to attend the University of Michigan or Villanova University, and is currently undecided about her major.
