On October 31 the Westerville South High School Marching Band, directed by John Laswell, traveled to Hilliard Bradley High School to compete at the Ohio Music Education Associated State Marching Band Finals. At the contest the band earned a final rating of Superior, for the second year in a row, which is the highest ranking earned at the state level. The band had a successful marching season, earning Superior ratings at three separate contests, qualifying them for state competition each time. The band concludes their season with a banquet on November 17, and the Westerville Holiday Parade on December 6.
