Sunday afternoon, November 1, proved to be a memorable day at Longfellow Elementary School, which hosted an open house for friends, neighbors, community members, and former and current students and staff.  Dozens of individuals crowded the halls to reminisce and tour the magnificent building, which was originally opened in 1931 at a cost of $72,000 to house students in grades 1-6.  Thousands of pupils throughout history started their educational journey at this beloved facility, which was named a National Blue Ribbon School in 2006.  Longfellow was closed in 2012, but is open for business once again, now supporting four All-day Kindergarten classrooms.
