Emerson Magnet School fifth grade pupil Audrey Mylin can add “published author” to her resume, following distribution of the September/October edition of New Moon magazine. Mylin wrote a feature article entitled Rock Some Rocket-Making! about building and launching a model rocket with her father.
New Moon Girls (NMG), according to the magazine, is the original girl-centered media. Girl editors, writers, filmmakers and artists from around the world direct the content, working with adults through the pioneering Share the Power method. NMG provides innovative, safe, respectful, and advertising-free spaces online and in the magazine where girls develop their full potential through self-discovery, creativity, and community. “NMG is for every girl who wants her voice heard and her dreams taken seriously in the world,” they write.
