Alcott Elementary students joined forces on Friday, September 23 for the school’s annual Walk-A-Thon to collect money for the Alcott PTA.  Pupils raised donations of nearly $12,000 by walking at the track at Westerville Central High School.  All participants were presented with a Walk-A-Thon t-shirt, thanks to a generous donation from Shirck Orthodontics.  With the help of a DJ offering a great selection music, spirits were high as classes in grades K-5 competed to raise the most money.  Principal Lauren DeMars agreed to wear a green wig and tutu to have her picture taken with the class that collected the most in the whole building.  Money raised will make it possible for the PTA to help support the school with such things as Chromebooks, library books, COSI on Wheels, and much more.  Event sponsors included the Alcott PTA, Shirck Orthodontics, Debbie Reichert Fitness, Suzanne McConnaughey, Sensational Sounds Unlimited, Klein Heating & Cooling, Koenig Pro Painting, James Robert John, and Katie Lesmerises.
