Local Marching Bands Compete at Mid-States Band Association Invitational

Friends, fans and family members packed the stadium at Westerville North High School on Saturday, October 17, for the fourth annual Mid-States Band Association Marching Band Invitational.  A color guard of military veterans from Westerville’s American Legion Post 171 got things rolling as the enthusiastic crowd braved chilly temperatures to watch as five marching bands competed.  Delaware Hayes placed first; Cincinnati Colerain second; Westerville Central third; Westerville South fourth; and Grove City Christian fifth.  Hosts Westerville North performed in exhibition.

Proceeds from the event will benefit music programs at Westerville North.  Event sponsors included Office Depot/Office Max - Polaris; Ron Riebe, Jr., Financial Advisor at Edward Jones; Shirck Orthodontics; Augusto S.
