The 10th annual Warrior Way Leadership Summit was held on Tuesday, September 15 at Westerville North High School. Approximately 150 students volunteered or were nominated to attend the event by teachers and staff in the building.
Keynote speaker was 2007 Westerville North graduate David Sigal, founder of Loud Life Clothing and the Loud Life Foundation, a non-profit organization created to inspire and empower those affected by addiction. Sigal knows firsthand what it is like to battle drug addiction. Through his own personal struggles he was able to turn things around, with the love and support of his family, and rebuild the drug-free and healthy lifestyle he deserves. He is grateful for his second chance in life and now wants to give back. He brought to the Leadership Summit a message of hope and perseverance.
Throughout the day, pupils also engaged in activities and discussions to help them discover their individual leadership style, identify key issues at North, and explore how they might use their personal leadership style to make an everyday difference in the North community. The Warrior Way Leadership Team has been asked to show their leadership qualities at school and in the community. These students are committed to shaping the image of the Warrior Way to continue to respect themselves and others.
